Travel Opposite Direction

You walk along the beach for several miles, occasionally stopping to admire seashells and gnarled driftwood; eventually reaching an inlet. At the water’s edge you find a small oar boat anchored to the shore by a rope tied around a sapling. The boat looks sturdy but well used. You wonder if the owner will be back any time soon, or whether they’d mind if you borrowed their vessel.
